From July 25, 2022. The State Border Service has introduced new rules for the import of pets from the territory of Ukraine to the territory of Poland. Among them is the presence of an implanted identification microchip.. This is stated in the message of the State Border Guard Service in Telegram.

According to the agency, now pet owners need to fulfill a number of conditions in order to freely cross the Ukrainian-Polish border with their pet..

“Crossing the border with pets will be possible only under the following conditions: the animal has an implanted microchip; the animal is vaccinated against rabies (vaccination must be up-to-date and carried out no earlier than the installed microchip); the animal has a valid European-style veterinary passport, which is issued by state veterinary institutions and confirms the installation of a microchip and vaccination,” the message says..

The State Border Guard Service notes that in order to simplify the procedure for transporting pets, Polish customs and veterinary services will not require health certificates and the results of testing the level of antibodies against rabies, carried out by the titration method.. If the citizens of Ukraine want to travel with animals to other countries where such a document is required, they can get it in Poland.
