Huge queues gather every morning at the office of the State Migration Service in the Zhytomyr region, Zhytomyr reports.. info. People say that the queue has been stretching since yesterday. Someone to issue a passport came at 6 in the morning, but it is unlikely that they will have time to get to the office for issuing a passport, and they will have to spend the night in an unknown place. Some make lists days in advance.

As it turned out, people from all over the Zhytomyr region come to the regional department of the State Migration Service, because service departments do not work in their settlements.

Anatoly Fedorchuk, head of the HMS department in the Zhytomyr region, explains that “19 units are not working now - this is a temporary solution related to security”. They also convince the management that they are doing everything possible to cope with the load and not force people to stand in line.. If the leadership of the department believes that it is safer to gather people in a huge crowd in one place than to disperse service points throughout the area, then this is more than a strange logic..

“Today, there is no reorganization of the service, no reduction of units that have ceased to provide administrative services.. This is all a forced temporary measure to preserve the life and health of citizens and our employees, as well as our equipment, on which we issue passports for residents of our region, citizens of Ukraine. Temporarily closed 19 branches. On average, up to 300 citizens per day. We have already increased the number of specialists for paperwork: before there were 4, now 6 people. We involved all services in the administration in order to help citizens as much as possible in the shortest possible time to issue or receive documents, ”says Anatoly Fedorchuk.

That is, 6 people per region, which ranks second in Ukraine in terms of area after Odessa, accept documents for issuing passports. Moreover, you also need to pay for a state “service” of this level..

According to Fedorchuk, there is a delay in the delivery of ready-made passports, since they are brought to Zhytomyr only twice a week..

He also recommended that the residents of the region wait for some time with the issuance of passports until the offices that are now closed are opened.. When they resume work, they promise to report on the website of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
