The European Commission calls on operators to allow Ukrainians who left the country to continue using mobile communications without paying roaming charges or at significant discounts.
" It is extremely important that Ukrainians have the opportunity to use communications at an affordable price, while remaining in contact with their families and friends,"
The European Commission reminds that the corresponding agreement was signed on April 8. It is designed for three months, and this period expires. Among the 38 entities that signed the statement, there are European operators, as well as all mobile operators in Ukraine.
According to the Association of European Regulators in the Field of Electronic Communications (BEREC), this agreement in favor of Ukrainian refugees was very successful.. In addition to affordable roaming, now 2.5 million SIM cards have been distributed by European telecommunications companies to refugees from Ukraine, and Wi-Fi access points have been installed at the borders and at points of residence.
