In the Russian-occupied Crimea, signs of preparations for general mobilization are recorded, the representative office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea reports.. Russia wants to send Ukrainians back into occupation to fight against their own country.

So, the other day, a decree of the so-called “head of the republic” appeared on the resources of the occupation administration, which created a “conscription commission for the mobilization of citizens in the Republic of Crimea” in a new composition, approved the regulation on it and instructed to create a lower-level commission in the relevant commissions.

“These steps indicate that the Russian Federation is preparing to conduct mobilization in the temporarily occupied territory. Citizens of Ukraine in the occupied Crimea are again planned to be forced to fight against their own state, as is already happening with those whom the occupiers illegally called up for military service,"

The conscription and mobilization of citizens into the army of the occupying state grossly violates the norms of international humanitarian law, including provision IV of the Geneva Convention for the protection of civilians in time of war.

The representative office called on Ukrainians in Crimea to do everything possible to avoid mobilization, to sabotage the decisions of the occupiers, and if this fails, to surrender at the first opportunity - this will save lives and not follow criminal orders.

Execution of orders that may result in civilian casualties or destruction of civilian infrastructure is qualified as a crime without a statute of limitations and is prosecuted under the law of Ukraine and international law, even if the mobilization is forced.
