In the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region, as a result of shelling, one of the largest electrical substations in Ukraine, Donbasska 750, caught fire, which is key for the energy supply of the north of Donbass.
As the speaker of the Bakhmut district department of the State Emergency Service Stanislav Baldin said on the air of local radio, rescuers cannot go to the place.
" Because fighting is taking place there, the shelling is still going on,"
The substation is located near the village of Vesela Dolina (southeast of Bakhmut) and is one of the key power supply facilities in the north of the Donetsk region, providing consumers with power from the Uglegorsk TPP (currently stopped due to hostilities) and the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Commissioned in 1977, modernized at the end of the tenth years of this century.
