The PayPal international payment service announced the extension of the commission-free period for international payments for Ukrainians until September 2022. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov.

PayPal became available to Ukrainians from March 17. For 3 months of service operation, Ukrainians created more than 200 thousand accounts, sent and received payments for more than $200 million. It is with the help of PayPal that Ukrainians can support their relatives who are abroad to collect donations from all over the world for the army.

Fedorov thanked PayPal CEO Dan Shulman for supporting Ukraine and almost half a billion dollars, which, with the assistance of the company, went to the accounts of charitable organizations that help Ukrainians around the world.

“PayPal was one of the first international companies not only to respond to our call to leave the Russian market after the start of a full-scale war. They also opened their services for Ukrainians so that they can receive money quickly and conveniently.. This is very important in these difficult times when both civilians and the military need help.. Thank you for your attitude and support. I am sure that our next step should be the launch of PayPal for business accounts. This is important so that Ukrainian business can develop, and our online stores and manufacturers can sell all over the world, accepting money on PayPal,” said the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister.

In turn, Dan Shulman also thanked Fedorov for his cooperation:.

Our platform helped to accumulate 500 million in the accounts of humanitarian organizations during this period.

We understand how important it is to support the flow of donations from people from all over the world to large and small organizations that are now helping the Ukrainian people.. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in our work in Ukraine during these difficult times,” said Dan Shulman.

PayPal ceased operations in Russia and began operations in Ukraine in March, following a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Putin's troops..

In May, the Payoneer payment platform was integrated into the Privat24 service.
