History of the Day of the paramedic.

The tradition of celebrating the Day of the Medical Worker in June has been preserved since the days of the USSR, where the holiday was first celebrated in 1981..

Later, the holiday was established in Ukraine in support of the initiative of healthcare workers in Ukraine, according to presidential decree No. 281/94 of June 3, 1994. The date of the celebration was determined by the third Sunday of June.

Now Ukraine is living in the conditions of a full-scale invasion of Russia. Medics play an important role in countering aggression by saving the lives of the defenders of our country, as well as providing the necessary medical care to civilians who suffer as a result of shelling and bombing.. Often, assistance has to be provided in conditions that pose a threat to the life and health of the health workers themselves, but they continue to fulfill their duty..

It is known that the Russians abducted Ukrainian paramedic and volunteer Yulia " A few days before the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, she went to the village of Berdyanskoye near Mariupol - the base of the Angels of Tayra volunteer evacuation unit is located there.. There she saved the Ukrainian military, civilians and even Russian invaders..

While working, she fixed a chest camera, thanks to which she was able to show how medical care is provided in a city surrounded by enemy troops..
