At present, the invaders have deployed 106 operational battalion tactical groups on the territory of Ukraine.. These troops are grouped geographically, east, central, west and south. The largest of the groups is the southern one, more than 50 BTGs are assigned to it, according to the Pentagon's official page..

They are concentrated between Kherson on the western side and Mariupol on the eastern side.. Also from Zaporozhye from the north, where they occupied a nuclear power plant, and up to Velika Novoselka (Donetsk region.

“So, if you draw a conditional oval - between Bolshaya Novoselka, Zaporozhye, Kherson, to the north of Crimea, the coast of the Sea of Azov, you basically have this southern [battalion-tactical] group. This is where they have the most troops.. Therefore, it is geographically scattered,” said an unnamed Pentagon official..

When asked how well equipped these troops are, he replied that there are no exact combat indicators and readiness indicators for each BTG yet.. What equipment, readiness for hostilities and what losses - they do not yet own this data. However, it can be stated that there is no need to talk about a sharp increase in the presence of the Russian axis in the south..

“They really didn’t add that much [personnel]. When we talked on Friday about 105 BTGs, another such battalion-tactical group was added for incoming. So there is no sharp growth”.

The Russians increased the number of their troops the day before, after the retreat from Kyiv. There has been some refitting, resupply and return of troops.

" They continue to lose equipment and systems in battles every day..

Now there is a dynamic struggle in the Donbass. Every day [the front line moves, withdraws] back and forth, and it cannot be said that the Russians have not made some progress. They have achieved. Again, it was uneven, slow, gradual, short and small, but they continued to progress a little,"

Recall that in March, the Ukrainian military disabled a third of the BTG of the Russian army. Then, in most operational areas, the occupier exhausted his attacking groupings and went on the defensive..
