The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted bill No. 6521, which allows territorial defense to carry out tasks in areas of combat operations.

The document was supported by 338 people's deputies.

“Changes proposed to the Law of Ukraine “On the Fundamentals of National Resistance” are designed to provide an opportunity for territorial defense to carry out tasks together with other groupings of troops (forces) or groupings of joint forces intended to conduct military (combat) operations to repel armed aggression against Ukraine in areas.

Previously, the activities of troopers were allowed only outside the combat zone. Now the deputies have canceled this condition, giving the Terrodefense the opportunity to perform tasks throughout the territory of Ukraine, including in such areas..

In addition, territorial defense could perform the tasks of defending lands and protecting the population within a certain bulk only until the deployment of a group of troops intended to repel armed aggression against Ukraine.. This part of the law “On the foundations of national resistance” was also removed.

According to draft law No. 6521, the decision on the implementation of tasks in the areas of military operations will be taken by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Today, the Verkhovna Rada also banned pro-Russian parties in Ukraine.
