After the end of the war, three sectors will become key for the revival of the country: defense, IT industry and agro-industry. And polytechnic universities that will work in connection with enterprises will be able to provide them with resources and personnel, notes in his article for ZN. UA "

“Polytechnics traditionally know how to do almost everything - from computer science to heavy engineering for both the defense sector and peaceful purposes: the agricultural sector, food and light industry. For example, Kharkiv Polytechnic University from the most critical areas does not capture only air, but, in an ideal scenario, it can be a tandem of KhPI and Kharkiv Aviation University. Engineering and civil engineering universities will also join here, ”the expert notes..

To do this, according to her, universities need to work out a system to officially, quickly and legally accept contributions from businesses and independently manage their funds..

“If business considers it necessary to help the faculty and department, it should have a quick and transparent mechanism to transfer equipment that future engineers could study on, or create an autonomous scholarship fund for talented students and teachers,” emphasizes Kosyuk..

In the future of Ukraine, the profession of an engineer should be no less prestigious than IT. But for this, local technology companies that are already involved or will be involved in the defense sector should be able to offer graduates conditions and salaries that are no worse than in IT..
