The regulatory framework for working with children who survived violence during the war was set up for peacetime, it needs to be changed. About this to the editor of the social department ZN. Galina Skipalska, executive director of the ICF "

[see_also ids\u003d"

“We had two cases regarding children in our work - from Bucha and Irpen,” she says.. - Although before that they talked about 23 children. Information needs to be carefully checked, including for women.. Even if activists apply, then it turns out that everything is not so simple. How to ask correctly what is with the evidence, especially if two or three weeks have passed. Yes, and there are not enough specialists to record all these crimes, that is, to collect all the documents in such a way that they later matter in court, and not to interrogate the victims several times.

But for a man it happened. And this is a deep trauma for years if it is not worked out..

As for children - a separate conversation. There should be a face-to-face consultation. In fact, the Barnahus model (an interdisciplinary specialized center for working with children who have been victims of violence or who have witnessed such crimes). But in Ukraine, only a few of them were created by the UFGZ and UNICEF, there are few trained psychologists. However, they are and are ready to work and teach others..

It is necessary to change the regulatory framework that was set for peacetime. The regulation, which concerned the Barnahuses, went like a pilot and only in those places where they were and worked. And here it turns out that according to this model we must teach everyone to work when there is a doctor in one place who will take samples, and in case he does not take, an algorithm should also be prescribed. Where will there be a psychologist who will provide assistance to a child in the community?. And a psychologist who will interrogate. To reduce trauma, it should be carried out once. Moreover, according to the methodology, a psychologist who interrogates a person, then cannot lead him. The regulatory framework should allow a psychologist to question a standard list, in particular about the war, so that he can record all this on video, which will then be taken into account in court. Because now in our courts video recording is not taken into account. During the war, you need to quickly make changes to the legislation and start taking into account all these points..

Including the abuser. It is not available during wartime..

The war is not over. And we can only guess what will happen next, what will be the atrocities in the east of the country. Now there is a problem with fixing such crimes.. We need trained doctors, forensic experts, as well as special suitcases with tools to collect relevant evidence from the bodies. To have evidence of war crimes.

Nevertheless, in my opinion, the main thing is to provide the victims with professional and timely psychological and, if necessary, medical assistance.. As a rule, after such cases, more than 72 hours pass.. No post-exposure prophylaxis and medical care were provided in a timely manner. It remains only to observe and treat. And it is extremely important to provide psychological assistance.”.
