The first " The next day, some residents still managed to leave, among them was the therapist Irina, who saved her children. Her and other dramatic stories of Bucha civilians who survived the occupation are told by Elena Zhezhera in the article “How Bucha fought for life: the birth of Alice and the history of a field hospital at home”.

“We left on March 9 at about 11 o’clock. In the car, besides me and my husband, there were four children, two dogs and two cats.. We took away another neighbor's girl. We were told to put on white bandages on our hands, write “Children” on the car and drive at a speed of 5 kilometers per hour. This horror along Yablonskaya Street, which the whole world saw now, we saw back then, ”recalls Irina.

There were shot cars on the street, dead people lay on the roadside. Later, Russian propaganda will blame the Ukrainians for these terrible war crimes and say that this happened after the Rashist troops left the city..

“I closed the eyes of the children, no one took pictures. We drove through several enemy checkpoints. If they found any photos of us, they would have shot us on the spot.. We removed everything from our phones. This path was for us an eternity. We drove 40 kilometers for more than eight hours. And prayed all the time. I think that an invisible dome grew over our car from my prayers, which protected us, ”the doctor is convinced.

On March 13, the courtyard of the house where Irina lived was occupied by Russian soldiers.

They set up their headquarters there.. The video from this house was first shown to the world on April 2 by journalist Dmitry Komarov, when he entered Bucha with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Now Irina and her children are safe, they were offered help in Poland and are already being offered a job in their specialty in one of the Polish clinics. Irina does not leave the thought of returning home to her native Bucha as soon as possible. She waits for it to be safe there.
