More than 23 thousand kilometers of roads have been destroyed in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion

As a result of the invasion of the Russian Federation and active hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, more than 23 thousand kilometers of roads were destroyed. Preliminary damage is 874 billion hryvnia, Andriy Ivko, First Deputy Head of Ukravtodor, said during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center.

“As of April 3, we have destroyed 23,000 kilometers of roads throughout Ukraine and 273 artificial structures. These are bridges, overpasses, etc.. The total amount (losses - ed.. ), which we have already calculated, is UAH 874 billion,” Ivko said..

According to him, Ukravtodor calculates the damage every day and is preparing to renew the infrastructure in order to start work as soon as possible after the end of the war..



According to Ivko, the greatest destruction was recorded in the east, south and part of the north of Ukraine - these are roads and bridges that were directly located or are located in the combat zone..

Also, Ivko added, the road infrastructure is most of all destroyed by rocket attacks from Russia..
