Over the past seven days, the Russian enemy forcibly removed more than a thousand residents of Mariupol to Russian territory. Civilians were taken hostage from the Levoberezhny district and the shelter in the building of the sports club. It was there that more than a thousand people were hiding from continuous bombardments - mostly women and children.. In order to save the lives of the civilian population, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not enter areas of mass congestion of residents in shelters.. The enemy immediately took advantage of this maneuver in their favor.. This was reported by the mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boychenko.

Now the fate of the kidnapped people has been traced to filtration camps, where the phones and documents of the captured people are checked.. Then some of them are sent to remote cities of Russia. What they do with the other part is unknown..

“What the occupiers are doing today is familiar to the older generation, who witnessed the terrible events of World War II, when the Nazis forcibly captured people.

It is hard to imagine that in the 21st century people are forcibly taken to another country. Not only did the Russian troops destroy our peaceful Mariupol, they went even further and began to take out the Mariupol residents. All war crimes committed by Russia must receive the most severe punishment,” Boychenko said..

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Russian troops in Mariupol drove residents to the regional hospital and use it as a firing position..
