The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has lost contact with the monitoring systems of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, adviser head of the office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak said.

Now there is no clear understanding of what is happening in Chernobyl, what the Russian invaders are doing and what to expect in the future.

“The IAEA unexpectedly lost contact with the safeguards monitoring systems at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. And that’s why now no one understands what is happening in Chernobyl, who and what is doing there and how it threatens the region. An extremely dangerous situation,” Podolyak wrote on Twitter..

Now the Agency is studying the state of monitoring systems of other Ukrainian NPPs, additional information will be provided in the near future.

The IAEA unexpectedly lost contact with monitoring systems of safeguards at the #Chernobyl nuclear power plant. And that’s why now no one understands what is happening in Chernobyl, who and what is doing there and how it threatens the region. Very dangerous situation.
