The Ministry of Health has reduced the period of self-isolation. After 5 days from the date of onset of symptoms or a positive test, self-isolation can be ended. The main condition is the absence of symptoms.

The Ministry says that in this case, it is not necessary to do a PCR test to complete self-isolation.

“At the same time, if less than 5 days have passed, and you receive a negative PCR test result, then this is also the basis for completing self-isolation,” the Ministry of Health said..

Note that previously mandatory self-isolation lasted 10 days - that is, 10 days should have passed since the onset of symptoms or a positive test result, and three more days, during which there should be no symptoms of COVID-19.

At the same time, according to a study by the University of Exeter, one in ten people with COVID-19, even after 10 days of self-isolation, can infect others with coronavirus. The virus can be stored in the body for up to 68 days, study says.
