The head of a subdivision of the Odessa Regional Council was informed of suspicion of abuse in the amount of UAH 80 million. This was reported by the press service of NABU.

According to the information received by the investigation, the former official implemented a scheme, as a result of which the Odessa community lost two architectural monuments - Marazli's Dacha and Fabritsky's Estate, as well as a number of buildings and land plots on which they are located.

According to this scheme, the objects located in the recreational zone (about 300 m from the sea) were leased to a private company in 2017 for a period of 10 years.. In the future, the regional council official ensured the inclusion of these objects in the list of subject to privatization.. As a result, in 2018, buildings were sold for 29.7 million? UAH to the tenant company, which is almost twice cheaper than the market value established by the expertise. The buyer also received the right to use a land plot of more than 1.2 hectares, which, at the time of sale, was not legally formalized. At the same time, as the examination established, the cost of the right to use such a site at the time of the sale amounted to more than UAH 56 million..

To prevent the destruction of architectural monuments and the subsequent illegal construction of the recreational zone, NABU detectives initiated the seizure of the object. VAKS granted the petition and in the fall of 2019 the buildings were seized, and in February 2021 on the land plots.

The investigation identifies other possible participants in the commission of the crime.
