The Security Council (a body whose powers are not established by either the Constitution or the law) undertook to discuss "the situation around the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine".

From what, actually, frightened?.

What does the upcoming presentation of autocephaly (that is, to say simply, the cessation of its dependence on the ROC) of the Ukrainian church have to do with the security of Russia? And has the ROC already ceased to be (at least de jure) separated from the state — what does the Security Council discuss these issues at all?.

However, it is stated that “Moscow is ready to protect Orthodox believers if violence against them is committed on the territory of Ukraine”.

And this is extremely serious.

By self-proclaiming to themselves the right to “protect” Russians, wherever they live (not Russian citizens, namely Russians or Russian speakers), the Russian authorities, under this pretext, organized the “annexation of the Crimea” and the intervention in eastern Ukraine.

Now they want to arrogate to themselves the right to "protect" the Orthodox outside of Russia - regardless of citizenship and residence?.

This principle has nothing to do with the Constitution of Russia, with Russian laws, with international law..

The state has the right and duty to protect its CITIZENS who are abroad - regardless of their origin, nationality or religion.

But not "compatriots" and not "co-religionists" - in order to justify aggression.

By the way, not only Orthodox live in Russia - will they “protect” Muslims living abroad? And how far can you go?.

Dmitry Peskov’s reservation that “defending Orthodox” will be “by diplomatic means” should not deceive anyone.

I would like to remind that the intention to send troops to Ukraine, including the Crimea, to "protect compatriots", Vladimir Putin confidently denied in December 2013. Stating "this is complete nonsense, nothing like this can be".

What was a hundred days - known.
