In Chernomorsk, the security of the 9th microdistrict was under threat - due to lack of money, it was necessary to stop the landslide and bank protection works in the coastal zone and begin to dispose of heavy equipment and specialized equipment.
According to the Black Sea Information Service, landslide processes may intensify in the near autumn-winter period in Chernomorsk. The construction of the holding structure - the pile series, for which only in 2018 the local budget spent more than 20 million UAH, was completely stopped.
"Today, due to lack of financing, it is impossible to install pile restraining structures and form a cape. Moreover, the nearest storm - and under threat will be the bank protection, which has already been formed. Of course, the situation is ambiguous. In 2002, the cost of implementing the project to strengthen the coast was 46 million UAH, now under the leadership of the deputy mayor Yuri Kruk, the project was adjusted. Its estimated cost has increased to 155 million. UAH.
But, unfortunately, now all the works are stopped, which means that further large-scale destruction will occur, and high-rise buildings and a sewage collector located in the 9th microdistrict can suffer. In this situation, everyone needs to take some measures. We can not admit the tragedy that occurred in our city recently, when in the landslide zone the metal gates fell on the child, and there was an irreparable. If you do not draw conclusions, there may be the next victims, "- told the publication of a member of the working group on the protection of Chernomorsk Igor Surnin.
