The Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art will host a lecture "Edgar Degas. Zakulisye female nature ».
Creativity Edgar Degas can be conditionally attributed to the French Impressionism. He was one of the most important figures of his time and, thanks to his aristocratic background, was able to freely and bravely create. The personal life of Degas is hidden behind seven seals and, some doubt whether she was at all.
Perhaps art is the artist's only love. But, nevertheless, women played a key role in his painting and sculpture.
Edgar Degas deservedly can be called an artist of washerwomen and ballerinas, an artist who was one of the first to understand and accept a woman in her nature, without idealization and without flattering deification. He spoke of a woman as a man, and in this humanity, simplicity, commonness, a woman showed her flesh and spirit to us.
Degas is a subtle psychologist and experimenter, although in his life his views were rather retrograde and patriarchal.
In this Degas opened the world talent of Gauguin, Cezanne, Morisot, Kesset and other novice masters.
But one of the main, to our, view of his merits was that Degas discovered a new femininity.
At the lecture we will tell the biography of the great artist, we'll talk about creativity, Edgar Deg's innovation and, of course, his view of female nature.
We are waiting for all on February 2, at 19. 00.
Admission is 50 UAH.
The lecture is read by a culturologist, research associate of the Odessa Museum of Western and Oriental Art Anastasia Frolkova.
