Previously, the White House said that there would be no official meeting. US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin shook hands at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam. This is reported by Reuters.

According to the report, earlier in the White House it was announced that there would not be an official meeting.

Trump and Putin smiled and stood next to each other for traditional group photography. Then they parted and at the reception sat at a table far apart, reports the agency.

"Regarding the planned, formal meetings, there is not one such in the timetable, and we do not expect that they will appear," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters a few minutes before Trump's landing in Danang.

November 9, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Putin and Trump will meet "most likely" on Friday. Soon there was a refutation from the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who said that the parties are finding out whether the presidents have enough topics to discuss tete-a-tete, or there is no point in meeting.
