The Ministry of Health of Ukraine updated the statistics of the incidence of botulism: as of July 18, 90 people were diagnosed in Ukraine, nine of them died. The relevant data are available on the Ministry's website.

According to the report, 8 out of 9 dead fell ill with botulism due to their consumption of dried fish.

In this regard, doctors recommend to avoid consumption of dried, salted and canned fish and canned meat, primarily home production.

Also it is not necessary to use products, conditions of storage and transportation of which are not properly observed or the quality of which is unknown to the consumer.

In early July, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) supplied to Ukraine a batch of antitoxin against botulism - 25 courses totaling 2.5 million hryvnia. On July 19, there were 22 flasks of serum in the warehouses of the state enterprise "Ukrvaccina". The first three vials were used to treat patients in the Kirovograd, Khmelnitsky and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

Recall, in early July in Kirovograd was recorded the first case of death in botulism.
