The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled in its decision of 7 July that airlines can not charge an additional fee if the client canceled the ticket reservation. This is reported by Euromag with reference to the Air Journal.

The reason for the investigation on this issue was the appeal of the German judges, who asked the higher authority to understand the policy of returning the carrier's money to Air Berlin.

The airline has included in the general terms of service provision a controversial clause according to which a passenger who has canceled a ticket reservation or does not appear at all for the flight must pay 25 euros as an order processing fee. German judges found this practice infringing on the rights of the client.

By a decision of the European Court from now on, the carrier can not charge an additional fee from a client who missed the flight or canceled the reservation, and also has no right to hide additional fees included in the ticket price.
