The transfer took place within the framework of the NATO program "Science for Peace and Security".

The North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) has transferred to Ukrainian pyrotechnics new demining equipment totaling 64 thousand euros. This is reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Emergencies.

The pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Situations Department received individual armor protection, modern metal detectors for the search for explosive objects, as well as means for ensuring the demining work.

NATO Deputy Secretary General on new security challenges Sorin Dukaru noted that it is very important to clear the liberated territories of Lugansk and Donetsk regions. The Alliance assists in technical equipment and training to increase the ability of Ukrainian rescuers to resist pro-Russian terrorist organizations.

The meeting also discussed the creation of a ZD mine detector, which is being developed by scientists from Ukraine and Norway to detect in the soil the location of an explosive object and display its three-dimensional image on a monitor.

On April 20, 2017, the French ambassador to Ukraine, Isabel Dumont, on behalf of her state, handed over to the SDGS three cannons for mine clearance.
