Obolonsky District Court of Kiev will consider criminal proceedings on charges of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in high treason under a special procedure.
This decision was taken by a panel of judges at a meeting on June 29, Gordon reports..
Thus, the court granted the motion of the prosecution.
Presiding Judge Vladislav Devyatko stressed that the decision to apply the absentee procedure is not subject to appeal.
According to him, since Yanukovych was notified about today's meeting, and did not appear on him without good reason.

The protection of the escaped Yanukovych claims that he can not appear in court because of the prosecution's failure to investigate the attempt on him in 2014.
