Only 6.9% of respondents said they already have biometric passports.
Almost half of Ukrainian citizens are not going to issue foreign biometric passports. This is evidenced by the data of a sociological survey conducted by the Foundation "Democratic Initiatives" named after Ilka Kucheriv in conjunction with the sociological service of the Razumkov Center. In particular, sociologists asked the respondents if they are going to register foreign biometric passports this year if they do not have them.
45.4% of the respondents answered that they do not intend to register foreign biometric passports at all. At the same time, 27.9% said they intended to make such documents, but later. Also, 7.4% of respondents reported that they are going to produce such passports exactly this year. Only 6.9% of respondents said they already have biometric passports, and 12.6% found it difficult to answer the question.
In addition, 66% of the Ukrainians surveyed said they do not have any passport, and 19.6% said they have an old passport, but without Schengen visas. At the same time, 8.
5% have an old passport with Schengen visas.
The national survey was conducted from 9 to 13 June 2017. 2018 respondents aged 18 and over were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine, except for temporarily occupied Crimea and territories in Lugansk and Donetsk regions. The theoretical sampling error is 2.3%.
Recall, according to a survey of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, this year only 1% of Ukrainians intend to rest in occupied Crimea.
