Mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov discussed with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic in Ukraine Mr. David La Cecilia the possibility of opening an Italian cultural center in the city.

On June 10, 2017, an Italian delegation headed by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Ukraine, Mr. David La Cecilia. Mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov at a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy stressed that Ukraine is connected with Italy not only diplomatic but also friendly relations. And Odessa is a striking example of this.

"The origins of the creation of Odessa were, including the Italians. This spirit is preserved in our city until today. And in many respects this is due to our fruitful cooperation in various spheres: cultural, tourist, economic, "stressed Gennady Trukhanov.

After the meeting, the mayor of Odessa invited Mr. David La Cecilia for a tour of Primorsky Boulevard, where the Ambassador of Italy highly appreciated the work carried out by the city authorities on the restoration of the Potemkin Stairs and the creation of the Istanbul Park.

Also, the parties discussed the possibility of creating an Italian cultural center in Odessa, which, of course, will be a worthy continuation of cooperation in the cultural sphere.
