Journalists are carriers of freedom of speech, without which democracy would not be possible. This was stated in the congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of the journalist by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrey Parubiy.

He recalled that Russia is conducting a hybrid war against our country, one of whose arenas is the information field, where, like in real war, there are sabotage and operations.

"Ukrainian journalists have become fighters of the information front, defending our dignity, our right to truth, our sovereignty. Journalists defend our country with their main weapon, in a word, "Parubiy said..

In this regard, he particularly noted the courage and heroism of the military correspondents who, "risking their own lives, stand side by side with our military on the front line, investing in victory no less than our soldiers".

"I wish all journalists happiness, good health, vitality, creative inspiration and professional development for our common victory," said Parubiy.

Recall, in his congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Journalism, NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov stated that media workers are "chroniclers of the newest history of Ukraine", on whose words "life often depends".

In turn, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman noted that not least thanks to the professional and dedicated work of journalists "it was possible to achieve positive changes in the life of our country".
