KP "Odesgorelektrotrans" proposes to separate the tramway from the rest of the roadway so that city transport along the tramway "North-South" could less than an hour drive all the way from the village of Kotovsky to Tairov.
This was discussed during the meeting of the transport commission, the correspondent of the Ukrainian Information Service.
OGET Deputy Director Vadim Isaev noted that there are different options for limiting travel by tram routes from Panteleimonovskaya to Sofievskaya.
There is an option for installing hemispheres or metal stops, as in Istanbul, - said the official.
He added that today 88% of the roads pass along a dedicated strip. But the most problematic area is Preobrazhenskaya.
The head of the transport department, Alexander Ilko, said that if the strip is allocated, it will reduce the time for simple transport.
The issue sparked controversy. So, deputy Andrei Kislovsky believes that after the allocation of the strip the street will be in dead traffic jams. Alexander Ilko noted that the city should decide on the priority - public or personal vehicles.
Never Expand Roads to Reduce Traffic. We try to give preference to public transport. There was a variant in general to close Preobrazhensky for cars, but now the compromise variant is considered, - Ilko declared.
Also, the deputies raised the issue of the presence of pockets for minibuses, wherever they would, without blocking traffic, land passengers.
As a result, the project was sent for revision to perform a visualization with pockets for route taxis, bicycle paths and parking spaces for official vehicles.
