For 2018, Ukraine's GDP growth is projected to accelerate to 3% with inflation slowing to 7%.
The Cabinet of Ministers worsened the forecast for GDP growth from 3% to 1.8%, inflation from 8.1% to 11.2% in 2017. The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting, 112 Ukraine.
The Cabinet revised the forecast of nominal GDP from UAH 2,584.9 billion to UAH 2,845.8 billion, and the growth forecast from 3% to 1.8%.
It is expected that the average annual inflation will be 12.9%, rather than 12.7%, as expected earlier, and in the annual measurement (December to December) - 11.2% instead of 8.1%.
At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers predicts the acceleration of Ukraine's GDP growth in 2018 to 3% with inflation slowing down to 7%. The relevant statement was made by First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv during the government meeting.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has developed three scenarios for the development of the Ukrainian economy in 2018-2020.
According to the moderate scenario, which is taken as a basis for the government, in 2018 the GDP growth will be 3%, in 2019 - 3.6%, in 2020 - 4%.
