The newspaper Izvestia - once one of the best Soviet and Russian newspapers, and now part of the absolutely pro-Kremlin pool "Life", published an article about our legislators' plans to limit contacts between Ukrainian citizens and Russian relatives. Given the story of the ban on Russian social networks, I decided to publish a piece of this article.

"The severance of all ties with Russia became the main trend of the policy of Kiev. As the sources in the Verkhovna Rada told Izvestia, Ukrainian nationalists picked up the idea of ??the director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory (executive authority of the country), Vladimir Vyatrovich, to break even the "family ties" of Ukrainians with Russians and develop a bill based on the ideas of the historian. Another thing is that it is very difficult to communicate with relatives in Russia in practice, but it is possible to minimize contacts by erecting additional obstacles.

One of these days Vladimir Vyatrovich has declared: everything, that detaches Ukrainians from Russia, goes on advantage to the country. Therefore, we must give up everything that "keeps the relationship" between the two neighbors, and first of all from the economy, language, history, culture, traditions and family ties. According to sources of Izvestia in the Verkhovna Rada, the idea of ??forcing Ukrainians to break ties with relatives in Russia was received with a bang, so now it is necessary to formalize such an initiative by law. However, those who were going to "ban Russian relatives" had problems, as a "good" idea needs somehow to be realized, and how to do it technically is still unclear. Perhaps relatives in Russia will have to declare.

One of the interlocutors of "Izvestia" noted that in fact the task is put to build a "mononation", and the centuries-old relationship with Russia clearly hinders this. Therefore, for example, trips to Russian relatives can be considered as threats to the national security of Ukraine. Another source noted that "the initiative is being worked out," but "it is necessary to take into account a lot of nuances". In addition, "the words of Vyatrovich are a throw-in with a slightly high degree, so that later it is possible to adopt the bill in a softer form". One of the options is to start "forgetting about Russia" from officials and not touching ordinary people yet. "Unfortunately, it comes to mind: the prohibition of direct flights in Russia, the ban on the railway communication, the visa regime with Russia and other things discussed , Which, indeed, terribly beat the poor pockets of citizens of our country, who decided to visit relatives in Russia. In addition, assessing the campaign to inflate absolutely beyond the bounds of spy mania, our authorities, alas, may well demand to abandon the Russian relatives. The motivation is the same as with social networks: it can be "secret agents of the FSB".

Once again, the phrase of my host at the SKB PS, Arkady Gurman comes to my mind: "In our country it's better to get under the tram than under the campaign".

It is curious that in 2014-2015 it was the Russian authorities that frightened Russian citizens with Ukrainians. I know this very well both for my relatives and for my wife's relatives. But now, I have a feeling that our authorities have safely decided to use Putin's experience. It would seem that we should have been interested in maximizing contacts with Russia. But no!.
