One of the outstanding Kharkov architects at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries was Boris Korneyenko. He received his education at the St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers. Immediately after training he went to Kharkov, where he revealed himself as a talented architect in full. Korneenko took only six years to go from an assistant architect to the chief architect of Kharkov. He held such a high position from 1899 to 1912. At the same time, the work on his most famous and vivid projects - the Mussoori Theater, the Peasant House and the Metropol Hotel that was destroyed during the war on Pavlovskaya Square - was completed either before or after the departure of the Chief Architect. Five-story building in per.. Classical, 8, erected on the project of Boris Korneyenko in 1913. Today, this is an unremarkable apartment house, but in the olden days, there were worked out the fresco pedagogues, where the educators were trained for preschool children. In addition to the classes, in this building there were exhibitions of works performed by the students themselves.

2300 m LUXURIOUS THEATER MUSSURI NOW WAITING FOR SNOW.
This building could become one of the most magnificent works of Boris Korneyenko, but could not stand the test of time.
Once the biggest circus theater, which bears the name of former host Gerasim Mussoori, accommodated 5750 spectators. Here Chaliapin, Pugacheva and Vysotsky spoke, in this building they accepted the first Constitution of the USSR. But 30 years ago the house was recognized as an emergency, and its demolition seems to be a matter of time.
