Mexican military disarmed police officers in the city of Zihuatanejo, as criminals entered the ranks of law enforcement agencies. As reported by Excelsior, the soldiers of the 75th Infantry Battalion and federal law enforcement officers went to the headquarters of the municipal police on May 16 and took it under control, not allowing anyone to leave.

During the inspection, 42 people were detained, who, without the necessary documents from the police, were in the building with weapons, in uniform and with signs of difference. Earlier it became known that at least five people were killed and two were injured as a result of an attack on police in the city of Reynosa in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.
