Biometric passports for traveling abroad as of May 11, 2017 were issued by 3.3 million Ukrainians, said the head of the press center of the State Migration Service of Ukraine, Sergei Gunko.
He also said that over the past month, 100,000 people have been issued passports.
On May 11, the Council of Ministers of the European Union approved a decision on granting a visa-free regime for Ukraine. To travel abroad, Ukrainians need to provide a biometric (with a chip) foreign passport. Old-style passports with an open visa also apply until the end of the visa period.
