The head of the Melitopol police department Yuri Bulanov was suspended from performing his duties, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The ministry believes that the leadership of the Melitopol police made a number of mistakes and miscalculations, like the Dnipro colleagues.

"The leadership and employees of the local police department made a number of miscalculations to ensure legality during the mass events on the Victory Day," the press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the May holidays in Melitopol mass events took place, with participants of about four thousand citizens. Security was provided by 200 law enforcement officers.
