EU High Representative Federica Magerini added that the EU will never recognize Crimea as Russian.
The European Union will announce in a few days an agreement on simplifying the visa regime with Ukraine, said EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Policy Federica Mogherini at a meeting of the UN Security Council. This is reported by the Deutsche Welle agency.
"We do not recognize and do not recognize the ever illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia," Mogherini said, adding that the EU will continue to work to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
On April 6, 2017, the European Parliament approved the granting to Ukrainians of the right to travel to the countries of the European Union without visas.
Ukrainians will receive a visa-free regime with 30 European countries, including 26 EU members (except Ireland and Great Britain), as well as Schengen countries that are not EU members - Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Norway.
On April 26, the decision to grant Ukraine a visa-free regime was approved by the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States of the European Union (COREPER).
On April 27, the European Parliament confirmed that on June 11, 2017 they will introduce a visa-free regime for Ukrainians in the EU countries.
