The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine promulgated the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on raising the minimum prices for some of the alcoholic beverages.
"In order to protect consumers from counterfeit and surrogate products and reduce the share of shadow economy, the Ministry of Economic Development proposes raising the minimum price for alcohol," the message says..
In particular, it is proposed to increase retail prices for vodka and alcoholic beverages by 7.64-11.3%; Whiskey, rum and gin - by 3.5-4.6%; Cognac (brandy) - by 3.4-6.1%; Wines with the addition of alcohol, sparkling and vermouth - by 1.7-1.8%.
According to the project, the minimum price of a half-liter bottle of vodka will grow by 7.64% - from 69.78 UAH to 75.11 UAH.
