Yesterday, April 26, an electronic petition appeared on the portal "Socially Active Citizen" asking the city authorities to recognize street cats and cats as part of the ecosystem of the city of Odessa.
The author of the proposal was Olga Zelinskaya from Odessa.
In the text of the appeal, the girl points out that Odessa cats and cats are constantly mutilated and killed in a variety of wild ways.
Therefore, she suggests that the Odessa City Council and the mayor of the city follow the example of some Ukrainian cities that have already adopted a similar decision. Among such cities - Kiev, Kharkiv, Lviv and Poltava. And a similar decision was made in the capital of Poland - Warsaw.
In addition, the inhabitant of Odessa accentuates attention to the fact that cats contribute to natural deratization - the destruction of rats and mice.
