Lviv City Council allocated the first part of the funds, intended for the region's cities, which agreed to accept a part of solid household waste from Lviv.

According to Zaxid. Net, during the session on April 27, the deputies approved the allocation of funds in the amount of more than 21 million UAH. These funds are provided for by changes in the development budget, for which 46 LSG deputies voted.

"First of all, we envisage about 20 million UAH for the implementation of the memorandum. This is the first stage of subvention allocation to city budgets that will receive solid domestic waste from us. Of those 20 million UAH, we have already clearly identified the amount that will receive Novoyavoror and Chervonograd, "- said the director of the Department of Economic Development LGU Irina Kulinich in the discussion of the draft of the relevant resolution.

It is noted that the deputies allocated 16 million UAH for the implementation of the memorandum. These funds have not yet been distributed between cities. At the moment, the deputies have clearly determined that more than 2 million UAH of the subvention will be given to Chervonograd, and Novoyavorivsk - more than 3 million UAH.

Earlier it was reported that solid household waste will be exported from Lviv to the landfills of other cities in the Lviv region, while Lviv city council will make the final system decision regarding the way of further utilization of garbage.

The relevant decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers, Lviv Regional State Administration and local self-government bodies.

Earlier, the Lviv mayor Andrei Sadovy made a proposal to create a backup landfill in the Chernobyl zone. Garden also said that as a city head of Lviv is ready to finance the creation of such a landfill at the expense of the city community.
