In 2016, the human rights organization La Strada-Ukraine received more than 38,000 applications from women, 90% of which are related to domestic violence, which is 14 times more than in 2015.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman during the meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, transmits the Government portal.
Groisman requires the police to react to crimes against women, and separately record data on such violations.
According to the prime minister, in the analytical police reports, a separate paragraph should refer to crimes against women.
"These crimes must be reacted in every region. And, God forbid, you (the heads of departments of NP in the areas - ed. ) There will be a positive trend for these crimes. This is unacceptable when there is violence against women. Including in families, "said Groisman.
Recall, according to the international women's human rights center La Strada-Ukraine, in recent years, the number of applications to the center of women affected by domestic violence has increased significantly.
So, in 2016 the organization received more than 38 thousand. Reports from women, 90% of them - about domestic violence, which is 14 times more than in 2015.
Also last year the number of reports on rape increased seven-fold, 11 times on sexual harassment, 10 times on psychological problems after violence, 9 times on complaints about health problems after domestic violence.
