The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to develop and approve the "minimal cultural basket" (minimum standards for providing cultural services) until the second quarter of 2017,.

This provision is contained in the Government's Priority Action Plan for 2017, approved by Order No. 275-r of April 3.

According to the order, the development of the basket will be carried out by four ministries: the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Regional Development.

It is expected that approval of the minimum cultural basket will contribute to "ensuring social guarantees of the population for receiving cultural services and equal access to such services".

In October 2016, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a new consumer basket. The product sets are approved based on the norm of 2790.8 kcal per day for an able-bodied person. The basket is designed for a person's needs per year.
