Shevchenkovsky district court of Kyiv sentenced to 8.5 years of imprisonment a lawyer from Donetsk, Vladimir Olentsevich, who was trying to take hostage to the wife of NSDC secretary Alexander Turchinov, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Kiev said on his Facebook page.
"On Friday, April 21, 2017, Shevchenkovsky district court supported the position of the Kyiv prosecutor's office and pronounced a verdict on the lawyer who attacked the employee of the Kiev University with a knife, having confused her with the wife of the NSDC secretary," the message says..
The court found the 62-year-old lawyer guilty of committing crimes,. 2 items. 15 in. 349 and h. 1 st. 147 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (seizure and detainment of a representative of the authorities as a hostage to induce the official to commit certain actions), and imposed a sentence of 8 years 6 months imprisonment.
