The deputy chairman of one of the district courts of the Dnieper, who was detained on a bribe the day before, was given a 24-hour house arrest for 60 days as a preventive measure. The second person involved in the criminal proceedings - the judge of the same court - was sent to a night house arrest.

The press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office said on Friday, April 21 that the investigating judge did not take into account the prosecution's arguments, as well as the recognition by the High Council of Justice of the validity of the application of the SAP. The state prosecution insisted on the detention of suspects in custody for a period of 60 days.

Recall, on April 20 detectives of the National Security Service and SBU operatives detained the deputy chairman of one of the district courts of the Dnieper, as well as the judge of this court on suspicion of obtaining undue benefits.

The vice-president of the court was taken red-handed when he received 1 thousand dollars of bribes. According to the investigation, she entered into a criminal conspiracy with another judge and extorted from the defendants 30 thousand dollars for sentencing, which would not provide for deprivation of liberty.

Money was transferred in several parts.
