The Central Election Commission refused to provide documents on the functioning and protection of the State Voter Registry to the request of the head of the second detachment department of the NABU, Alexander Kareev.

As the press service of the commission informs, at a meeting of the CEC on March 24 it was noted that "providing information on the basic principles of functioning and protection of the automated information and telecommunications system" State Register of Voters "can lead to a breach of the information security of this system".

"The collection of the requested information poses a potential threat to the information security of the state, since there is a real threat and the possibility of its transfer to persons who take part in the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine and illegal occupation of the territory of our state.

And also - may indicate the presence of signs of crimes provided for in articles 111 and 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, according to which an act intentionally committed by a citizen of Ukraine to the detriment of, in particular, the information security of Ukraine, is treason, as well as abuse of power or official authority, " - reads the message.

The Commission decided to grant temporary access to the documents specified in the appeal of Kareyev, "to the person specified in the decision of the investigating judge, the court on temporary access to things and documents, in the case of presenting the original of such a decision and giving his copy".
