Scientists have made a very important discovery that could change our understanding of the Universe.. They discovered five dwarf galaxies that have an almost perfectly aligned location in space.. This discovery challenges the main model of the evolution of the Universe. The study was published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, writes Space.

Astronomers have discovered a group of five galaxies located 117 million light-years away, held together by mutual gravity in an almost perfectly aligned arrangement in space.. It seems that these galaxies are almost on the same line. But this arrangement cannot be explained by the standard Lambda-CDM cosmological model, which describes the evolution of the Universe..

The discovered dwarf galaxies were designated D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5. They are not very bright, but are filled with interstellar gas, which allows them to actively form new stars. Dwarf galaxies have relatively low mass because they contain far fewer stars than larger galaxies.. The total of the five discovered dwarf galaxies is only a few billion times the mass of the Sun.. For comparison, the total mass of the Milky Way is about 1.5 trillion times the mass of the Sun.

Although the five dwarf galaxies are not special in many respects, their arrangement is a major anomaly. Dwarf galaxies tend to be isolated from other galaxies. Only about 5% of them have close companions. The probability of finding five dwarf galaxies that are close to each other at once is less than 0.004%.

Scientists cannot yet explain this alignment of galaxies, because it could be a simple coincidence or indicate unknown evolutionary paths of such objects.

Three galaxies in the group have the same direction of rotation, a study has found, which is confusing astronomers.. And the two galaxies actively interact with each other and pump interstellar gas, which contributes to the emergence of new stars.

The discovery of these dwarf galaxies challenges our best theory of cosmic evolution, known as the standard Lambda-CDM cosmological model. According to scientists, this model cannot explain the formation of such small, almost aligned galaxies in isolated space..

According to the standard cosmological model, dark matter, which is responsible for the formation of galaxies, cannot create such ordered groups of dwarf galaxies.

Further observations may shed light on this anomalous phenomenon.. Although astronomers may discover something that casts doubt on the validity of the standard cosmological model of the Universe.

As Focus already wrote, physicists for the first time measured the quantum geometric shape of electrons. A new achievement could help physicists unlock some of the mysteries of the quantum world..

Focus also wrote that a new study showed that the Moon’s magnetic field existed much longer than scientists expected. This discovery has important implications for understanding the evolution of the Moon.
