On January 15, China successfully launched the Long March-2D rocket, sending 14 new satellites from seven developers into space, Xinhua reports..

The rocket was launched from the Taiyuan spaceport in northern China's Shanxi province..

Satellites including Qilu-2 and Qilu-3 entered their planned orbits. It is a high-resolution optical satellite and a broadband optical satellite with a payload of optical instruments for Earth observation..

The satellites will provide east China's Shandong province with remote sensing services for land management, agriculture and forestry, environmental protection, disaster prevention and response. They will also work in coordination with the orbiting Qilu-1 satellite..

This was the 462nd flight using the Long March rocket..

The Long March-2D rocket was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Flight Technology, a subsidiary of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation..

However, there is no guarantee that China has disclosed all the targets for launching more than 10 new satellites.. For example, in September, Western analysts emphasized that the Chinese Yaogan 33 satellite launched into space could be a spy, and not just a tool for farmers and climatologists..
