Google has confirmed that in some cases it monitors the location of users, even if the corresponding feature is disabled in the settings of the "Location History". Updated information appeared on Thursday, August 16, on the Google help page, according to AP.

Previously, the "Location History" help page said that if you disable this feature, information about "the places you are going to be stored will no longer be stored". However, the certificate was changed after the publication of the AP investigation. Now the page says that the setting does not affect other applications that request geolocation. In addition, Google acknowledged that some location data may be stored as part of the activity on other services, such as "Search" or "Maps".

Earlier AP journalists found out that some Google applications continue to record location information, even if the user has disabled the corresponding function. So, the data is saved when the "Maps" application is opened.. In addition, automatic tracking of local weather forecasts on phones with the Android operating system also stores the location of users.
