On Tuesday, November 14, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced the initiation of an investigation into a case in which a little-known software manufacturer Aqua Connect accuses Apple of violating patents.
According to the news agency "Reuters" with reference to the statement of ITC, the investigation began with the filing of a complaint by Aqua Connect, as well as a subsidiary of the California company Strategic Technology Partners. The authors of the claim are dissatisfied with the allegedly illegal use of patented technologies in computers, tablets, iPods, smartphones and set-top boxes Apple.
It's about the components of the system AirPlay, which allows you to broadcast images from the iPhone, iPad and Mac-computer to other devices. Aqua Connect develops technologies that provide remote access to desktops and laptops on the operating system macOS.
According to the statement of Aqua Connect, long-term cooperation with Apple unexpectedly ceased on the initiative of the latter in early 2011. Soon after, Apple released a new computer OS Mac OS X Lion with a built-in utility for remote access to the desktop. Aqua Connect saw in this function its technology.
