We all know Apple as one of the most ardent environmentalists. Every year, the company spends millions of dollars refusing non-renewable energy sources and making the production of its products more and more environmentally friendly. There was no exception in this chain and the Chicago Apple Store, which preserves the lives of hundreds of migratory birds.

The new Apple Store in Chicago is perhaps the only Apple store that, with the approach of night, plunges into darkness. According to the Chicago Tribune, the company was forced to abandon the lighting of the building for the period of migration of birds.

The glass walls of the store, illuminated from the inside, created the illusion of the absence of barriers, forcing the animals to fly straight into them.

"This is a forced measure that will function throughout the migration season [birds]," comments local blackout Nick Leahy, Apple spokesman. "We will resume lighting the store in the dark at the end of the day.". Apple took this decision under the influence of Illinois activists who opposed the actions of the company for the disorientation of birds.
