A well-known developer Chainfire announced the termination of work on its most popular project - SuperSU application. The latter is well known to all experienced Android users, since it is with his help for many years that they managed the root-rights on their devices. In his blog, Chainfire described why he made the decision that he will be with SuperSU and what he plans to do in the future.

About two years ago, Chainfire announced the sale of the SuperSU application only to the then established company CCMT. Despite some concerns, this did not affect the work and development of the utility. But the two-year contract Chainfire with CCMT, on which the developer had to continue to deal with the application, came to an end, so he decided to talk about his future plans. According to Chainfire, he plans to maintain contact with CCMT as a consultant until February 24 next year, but his daily duties are completed.

"Just over two years ago, I announced the upcoming transfer of SuperSU to CCMT and eventually left the project. Now, on the 10th anniversary of the release of my first mobile application, right after SuperSU turned five and a half years old, and the number of downloads on Google Play exceeded 100 million, it's time to officially announce retirement, "said Chainfire.

The developer also noted that he will try to finish work on some functions in SuperSU, but nothing promises. For the fate of his "brainchild" he does not experience, because I'm sure of the CCMT staff.

"Although I intend to switch my attention, this does not mean that I will leave the development of mobile applications. Who knows what projects will appear on my way. I do not have a deficit in applications, functions and services (some are good, and some are undoubtedly bad), and there is always a desire for new knowledge and experience. Just like the firmware. mobi was for me an excuse to get acquainted with Python, the languages ??Kotlin and Swift were in my wish list for some time, and both are known to be used to develop applications, "said Chainfire.

According to Chainfire, in the last two years due to the contract with CCMT he had to abandon a number of interesting proposals.

But now he is free and ready for something new.

"If you have a project that may be interesting at the technical level (it does not have to be connected to mobile platforms) or has a positive impact on the world (or smaller areas), do not hesitate to contact," said Chainfire.

At the end of his message he wrote the following:.

"Once again, thanks to everyone who supported me (and SuperSU) for many years, this meant a lot to me," wrote Chainfire.
